i'm using my new "picture" camera as a video camera, Canon Rebel T1i.  i still use my flip sometimes, I have both.

It looks amazing Dave, you could make some pretty amazing videos with the correct settings on that.
Many short film makers in my city are starting to use their dslr's in some parts of their filming.

thanks.  and yeah, but there are certain limitations, including (but not limited to) my inability to zoom with the lens I use.  Overall, I'm really happy with it though, and some people really do turn out awesome footage with dslr's.

Do Canon DSLR's videos have auto focus?

Nikons don't but if you get enough lenses dave, you are set to film haha.

Yeah they do, thats what makes them so perfect to film with, not to mention being able to put your baby death on it for pictures and video.

no, not a practical autofocus.  it's not continual and it takes about four seconds while it makes noise and searches and the settings go crazy.  so no, it doesn't autofocus.  and i don't think you can put a baby death on it.  and lenses cost money, unfortunately.

Yeah its definitely not the kind of autofocus that you want when your filming, its loud and retarded. Im pretty sure you can buy adapters and other equipment that allows you to attach your lens to the camera, but I can imagine it isn't cheap.

so do you have one?  I'm not sure about adapters and stuff like that, it's easier just to use lenses meant for the camera.  and i don't have a decent fisheye anyway, so if i wanted one i'd have to buy a cannon one or something.
