Flip Fingerboarding at Oli Oli Children’s Museum

There’s something magical in being in a space where you can engage in multiple activities that sparks your imagination. Growing up, our founder, Connor Maxwell, spent a lot of time at Oli Oli Children’s Museum.
He loves creating different things and Oli Oli is just the perfect space for him to explore and learn.
He celebrated birthday parties, attended their awesome camps and visited many, many times.
Last Sunday, he visited once more, yet this time it is to represent Flip Fingerboarding and provide an additional entertainment to visitors.
It’s a special moment to be in this magical space. We are indeed thankful to have a fun place that nurtures creativity and experiential learning.
He had just as much fun and passion as his first visit!

Oli Oli is currently running a special Ramadan family pass for you to enjoy so please go and check it out. Have fun!

1 Year Anniversary Special Edition: Sonal Rupani

To celebrate turning one year, we will be sharing with you some of our most interesting milestones with supporters that helped us kick-start our business.

On the 12th of April 2023, we were tuned in to the Arabian Radio Network Dubai Eye 103.8 listening to Off Script with Sonal Rupani, Robbie Greenfield and Chris McHardy when we sent them a message to share our business, Flip Fingerboarding, founded by a then 10 year old Connor Maxwell.

While on air, Sonal placed the order for one of our really special fingerboard ‘Neurodiversity 1.1’.

Art inspiration:

Connor was so inspired when he won the ‘Design-A-Pin’ competition run by his school for the Neurodiversity week. He designed a 4-pin puzzle where each puzzle piece is an independent pin that connects together and form as one. The competition being that this pin will be worn by the specialized staff so that our children will know whom to approach for support. Connor imagined the 4 staff coming together, removing their pin and putting them as one full piece. It’s very witty and fun at the same time.

Just like his original puzzle design, there are four fingerboards that make-up the ‘Neurodiversity’ collection (Neurodiversity 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 & 1.4).

Sonal has one of them.

Connor personally delivered her fingerboard with a cheeky message that says “From the greatest CEO ever.”

Sonal Rupani, thank you so much for supporting our business.

Inspired by Captain America

by Sheryl Maxwell

Dubai, 5th of February 2024

I had a fortunate encounter with Jesse Simon, the grandson of Joe Simon, the co-creator of Captain America at Pop Con Dubai.

It’s such a precious conversation where he described how it was like to grow up with his grandfather. As he revisited these memories, you can feel how deep this connection goes. It’s not only about comics and art, it’s a story of 3 generations from his grandfather, father and now him. I felt so blessed hearing a first hand recollection of these memories from Jesse.

Jesse was with his grandfather when he finally saw Captain America come to life, just as how he imagined it, they finally got it right. Right after, Joe died. There’s no sadness in Jesse’s face when he shared this to me, in fact, there’s a sense of peace in him and almost a twinkle in his eye. “Captain America lives. Every time I see Captain America, I see my grandfather. He’s everywhere.”, Jesse uttered.

I can’t agree more.

As I share Jesse’s stories to my children, they were so inspired by them. Connor took one of his blank fingerboards and started drawing. He said he will give Jesse a gift tomorrow when he sees him. I asked, “What are you making?” He replied, “Oh it’s Jesse as Captain America. I want him to sign it for me so I can display it in my room and I’ll remember his story with his grandfather.”

Jesse, you are an inspiration on your own. Your grandfather is legendary but so are you. It gives me hope — you gave me hope — that one day Connor will have these special memories tuck deep within him to recall one day. We are going to enjoy your ShieldMaster comic books together as a family!

Thank you for giving us your precious time and energy. It’s truly appreciated.
